The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has opened an investigation into the death after finding the body of Emilie Maheu, 26, in South Glengarry on Saturday.

Ms. Maheu was last seen near her workplace in Alexandria, about 100 kilometers east of Ottawa, on Thursday afternoon. Her relatives had reported her disappearance that evening.

The PPO has so far identified no suspects, a spokesman said Saturday night, who could not specify where the body was found.

An autopsy must be performed in the coming days.
