A Winnipeg couple had the chance to meet and be photographed with Paul McCartney, music legend and former band member The Beatles, on their wedding day.
Jen Roscoe and Steve Gregg were taking wedding photos along Winnipeg’s Waterfront Avenue on Saturday when the musician appeared on his bike.
“He passed by us and congratulated us. Steve then realized it was Paul McCartney, “laughs Jen Roscoe.
The musician and the two security guards who accompanied him found themselves in a dead end and had to turn back.
“When he came back, we asked him if he wanted to take some pictures with us and he was kind enough to accept,” says the bride.
In all, the meeting lasted about 20 seconds, according to Steve Gregg.
“It was very brief, he shook our hand. He congratulated us before taking some quick photos before leaving, “he says.
A photographer from the company MADIX Photography took the photos and put them online on Sunday.
The couple says they have been bombarded with questions since the publication of the photos.
Jen Roscoe and Steve Gregg, who say they love the work of the Beatles, plan to put some pictures with Paul McCartney in their wedding album.
“It was a beautiful thing that came in a day filled with wonderful events,” says Steve Gregg.
He says, however, that it was not the meeting with the legend of music that was the best thing that happened to him on Saturday.
